The Ultimate Football Tailgating Checklist

September is just around the corner, which means one thing: Football season! Fans across the country love to get together on Sundays, whether it is at a house, bar, or football tailgate, and cheer on their favorite team.

If you plan on tailgating on Saturdays for college football or Sundays for the NFL, it is key to make sure your party is the “ultimate football tailgating party.”  Whether it is big or small, your tailgate party needs to be well-planned in order to succeed, so start by creating a list of tailgating supplies.

Go beyond setting up lawn chairs and eating sandwiches, and get the right accessories to make a truly memorable party atmosphere right before the big game. Here are our suggestions for the ultimate football tailgating experience:

Almost all tailgating revolves around grilled food, so planning out the cook station is important. The perfect utensils for grilling are a must, from hamburger flippers and tongs to BBQ brushes and plenty of plates and platters.

Once you get the grill set up, it is important to get out all your favorite tailgating foods: burgers, hot dogs, ribs, bratwursts, or anything you enjoy on the grill. Don’t forget side dishes and other snacks to feed all of your tailgating guests.

After you eat your grilled masterpieces, you’ll need something to wash it down. Make sure to have plenty of water, soda, and alcohol for the adults. Once the weather gets colder towards the end of the season, a nice cup of coffee or hot chocolate will also do the trick.

Tailgates can be an all day experience, so it is important to supply some form of entertainment for your guests. You can’t go wrong with a deck of cards, beanbag toss set, or a football to throw around the parking lot.

In regards to music, you will need to have a great portable sound system that will keep the party going. If you do not have access to a power outlet, the Soulra makes for a perfect option. It will play, as well as charge, your iPod or iPhone using a solar powered panel.

Strike up the grill, throw on a burger, take a sip from your favorie drink, and dance to all your favorite tunes on the Soulra!

I cannot accurately express how excited I am for the return of football season. I should definitely get a Soulra to accompany me to all the COLTS tailgates!
