The ABCs of Pool Safety for Your Summer
One of the best parts of summer is spending long (seemingly never-ending) days at the pool. For those of you lucky enough to have your own demi-resort in your back yard, it’s important to think about safety—especially if you have children.

In honor of Home Safety Month, here are the ABCs of pool safety to ensure your pool adventures are fun and safe!
Adults
Children should never be left unattended at a pool. Adults supervising the pool shouldn’t be distracted by cell phones or other devices. Experts say adult supervision is the most effective way to prevent drowning.
Buddies
Never swim alone – like in almost all situations, the buddy system is the best system. No matter your age, it’s always a good idea to have someone else present in case something was to happen.
Classes
Many local organizations offer swimming lessons for children of all ages. Enrolling your kids in a class will help them feel more confident in the water and less likely to have an issue while swimming. Anyone old enough should also take a CPR or life-saving class.
The most important thing about summer is having fun! So make sure you follow these tips to ensure your summer is exciting and carefree.
