Go Team! Go Green! Tips for Eco-Friendly Tailgating

It’s almost fall, and while it may not actually feel like it weather-wise, we can say for sure because… it’s finally football season! With high school, college, and NFL games scheduled for every weekend through January (and thus the possibility for tailgating every weekend), it’s important to keep the environment where you tailgate in mind.

Here are four great tips for how to keep it green when tailgating!

Bring dishes, cups, and utensils that are reusable. It’s easy to decide that it’s too much effort to tote reusable items to and from the game, but it’s well worth it! Instead of buying disposable, bring items that you can take home later and wash. For easy storage, bring a trash bag or plastic bin and put your dishes in it at the end of the game. When you get home, toss them in the dishwasher. Easy! If you do decide to go the disposable route, see if your facility has any recycling bins.

Bring your Mobius. Instead of leaving your car running to use a car charger, get this rechargeable battery case. It has a solar panel, so you can leave your phone sitting out to charge while you enjoy the tailgating festivities!

Be the life of the tailgate with your Soulra XL! Avoid letting your car idol while you play music through your car’s sound system. Instead, bring the Soulra XL and blast your favorite music through its iPod and iPhone dock. Bonus? The Soulra XL has a 72in solar panel, so it’s easy to charge just from direct sunlight!

Use a propane grill. It’s that easy: just use a propane grill. While it’s still a petroleum product, it will burn much cleaner than a regular charcoal grill. It’s also a lot more convenient when cooking away from home!

These are some of our favorite green tips for tailgating, but we want to hear some of your tips! What other green tailgating tips would you add to this list? Do you already tailgate with your Soulra XL and Mobius?
