Go green with your holiday décor

Going green for the winter holidays doesn’t only mean sporting a Christmas tree in the living room or a wreath outside of the door. In fact, there are countless ways families can “go green” this December. From lights and ornaments, to festive stockings, we share tips from Ecofabulous on greening your holiday décor.

green christmas tips

For tree decorating, Ecofabulous suggests adorning the tree with vintage mementos made from renewable resources or recycled materials. Be sure to follow our tree safety guidelines while you decorate.

For green lighting, we suggest LED lights. Not only do that light up a room beautifully, but they’re eco-friendly and do not have to constantly be changed. Be sure to turn off all lights when you go to bed or leave the house. The lights could short out and start a fire.

Ecofabulous gives you a green pat on the back if you’ve been using the same stocking year after year. In the event you haven’t, and are looking to start, consider purchasing one made from natural, renewable fibers – like wool, hemp, or organic cotton. We couldn’t agree more!

Deck the halls: Whether you’re placing mistletoe, holly or other arrangements of choice throughout your home, make sure you’re going organic and local when feasible.

We hope these tips will help deck your halls this December and for years to come! From the Eton Corporation family, we wish you all the best this holiday season.
