Chill out with Etón’s winter playlist

songs about the cold

The holidays may be over, but that doesn’t mean the cheer (or great music) has to subside. Here is a collection of some of our favorite winter songs to jam to while we watch the snow accumulate.

  • Cold Shot (Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble): “That’s a cold shot, baby. Yeah that’s a drag.” A story of a relationship gone south or disdain towards the winter months?
  • A Winter’s Tale (Queen): “Am I dreaming…Am I dreaming…?” No, Freddie – it’s really that cold outside.
  • Cold Day in the Sun (Foo Fighters): “You’ll take the heat but you would never take the fall.” Actually, we’ll take either the fall (season) or the heat (summer). Bring it on.
  • In the Cold, Cold Night (The White Stripes): Need a way to keep warm? Meg and Jack White suggest body heat. “I can’t stand it any longer. I need the fuel to make my fire bright. So don’t fight it any longer. Come to me again in the cold, cold night”
  • A Hazy Shade of Winter (Simon & Garfunkel): “Ahhh, seasons change with the scenery. Weaving time in a tapestry. Won’t you stop and remember me at any convenient time?” If that’s spring speaking, then yes – we’ll certainly remember and dream of your impending warmth.
  • Cold as Ice (Foreigner): “You’re as cold as ice, oh yes I know!” Q: What’s colder than winter? A: A scorned man armed with a power ballad.
  • Coldest Winter (Kanye West): Pretty self-explanatory, wouldn’t you agree?

Although (baby) it’s cold outside in some areas of the country, we hope this list will help you groove your way through the cold and onto warmer weather.
