Mobile News of the Week: Facebook Buys Instagram for $1 Billion
If you spent any time online this week, you probably know that Facebook purchased popular photo-sharing app Instagram for $1 billion. Instagram takes cellphone photo sharing to a new level, adding interesting filters to pictures and featuring easy sharing with friends. Instagram has become the most popular photo app for avid cellphone photographers, especially now that Instagram is available on Android and iPhone mobile platforms.
With a speaker system as attractive as our Rukus Bluetooth sound system, we can’t help but use Instagram to upload photos of it to share with you. In fact, speaking of Instagram, we’re especially excited about posting photos to our Instagram from Coachella this weekend. We at Eton will be bringing along the Rukus Solar to Vestal Village for an exciting debut. The Rukus Solar will be rockin’ Vestal Village, and you can follow Eton Corp on Instagram for photos of Coachella and the Village.

While you’re on your phone following us on Instagram, make sure you follow @EtonCorporation and mention #EtonSound. #EtonSound will be your on-the-ground reporter of all things Coachella, Rukus, and Vestal Village.
So, how many Rukus Solars could be purchased for Facebook’s purchasing price of Instagram? We did the math: almost 7 million! Seven million Rukus Solars would mean a whole lot of people enjoying their music and the sunshine outside this summer.
If you love taking photos of Instagram on your iPhone, check out the Mobius iPhone charger. The Mobius will charge your phone with solar energy and protect your phone in a durable case. Even though you’ll be using your camera to take perfectly-filtered Instagram photos, your battery life will remain intact.
Do you use Instagram, or a different cellphone photography app? What technology would you buy with $1 billion? Drop us a comment!
